Get to Know Us

Helping people is our heartbeat.

Let it be yours too!

   Our Mission Statement

The Autism Fragile X Foundation (AFXF) aims to empower people on the autism spectrum, people with Fragile X Syndrome, and people with anxiety based disorders (e.g. Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), etc) through:

  • Research and Development

  • Connections to treatment resources

  • Coordinating fun and educational events

  • Recruiting volunteers who want to help

Every barrier that we can help autistic adults break down today will be one autistic children won’t have to face in the future. Your heartfelt donations, sponsorships, and participation as non-profits, volunteers, or staff members function together to foster these crucial changes and developments.

Our hearts guide our desire to help children, adolescents, adults, entire families, and veterans find new beginnings. Let your heart guide you too.

ASD DATA

According to the the CDC's 2018 Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Data & Statistics Prevalence:

  • Approximately 1 in 44 children nationwide is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), representing a 15 percent increase from previous estimates (2)

  • Boys: 1 in 27 are recognized with autism

  • Girls: 1 in 116 are recognized with autism

Mental health professionals note that early intervention provides the best opportunity to help support the healthy development of autistic children and can also offer continued benefits throughout their lives. Unfortunately, even though diagnoses can be determined in children as early as 2 years old most children—especially those in minority groups—aren't identified until after age 4. Overall, many children tend to remain undiagnosed at later ages and less often.

Even though autism affects every socioeconomic and ethnic bracket, young adults with autism tend to have lower employment rates and higher rates of complete social isolation than people with other disabilities. Two-thirds of young people with autism had neither a job nor educational plans during the first two years after high school. For over a third of young adults with autism, this tends to continue into their early 20s. (4)

PTSD DATA AND VETERANS

  • Multiple studies indicate that more than 300,000 Veterans suffer from PTSD (3)

  • Data also indicates that there are more than 40,000 homeless veterans, and that many likely suffer from PTSD among other stress and anxiety-based disorders (5)

   Our Bio & Journey

The Autism Fragile X Foundation Bio

The Autism Fragile X Foundation (AFXF) is the leading non-profit 501-C3 foundation that supports bioresearch and the development of pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals that have no detrimental side effects or cross-reactions in the livers of patients. AFXF’s main focus is to support the development of what we hope will be a paradigm shift for the aid of autistic people and aid in the treatment of Fragile X Syndrome and anxiety-based disorders (e.g. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder [PTSD], Generalized Anxiety Disorder [GAD], Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder [ADHD], Depression, etc).

While AFXF and our volunteer staff recognize the importance of research and development, we also recognize how essential spreading awareness to families who have autistic loved ones or family members with Fragile X Syndrome or other anxiety based disorders is. As such, we plan to organize fun and educational future events such as the annual Autism Parade, Run Walk n’ Roll 5K Festival, and Resource and Job Fair in 2023! Through these events AFXF aims to collaborate with other non-profit foundations and for-profit companies to provide resources and job fairs to the Autistic community and for people with anxiety-based disorders.

Our Journey

Several years ago, the AFXF was founded based on the goal of empowering autistic people, people with Fragile X Syndrome, and people with anxiety based disorders through bioresearch and the innovation of new technologies—namely nutraceuticals and diagnostic tests. We are grateful to have had connections to highly renowned researchers, labs, universities, and other groups who share our interests and goals.

We primarily started working with Global WholeHealth Partners (GWHP) after they received the licensing rights to sell the only Whole Blood Rapid Diagnostic Test for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Most diagnostic screenings for ASD are prohibitively expensive and time-consuming, but development and distribution of this rapid blood test will help providers and patients receive diagnoses more quickly while saving money.

Our Partners

We primarily started working with Global WholeHealth Partners (GWHP) after they received the licensing rights to sell the only Whole Blood Rapid Diagnostic Test for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Diagnosing ASD is a challenging and time-consuming process for physicians as it usually entails an evaluation of a child’s cognitive or thinking skills, language abilities, and age-appropriate skills. As such, there is enormous interest in a test for autism based on biological markers.

In addition, most diagnostic screenings for ASD are prohibitively expensive, but GWHP plans to sell these tests at more affordable prices to help providers and patients have answers more quickly while saving money.

Every donation to AFXF will aid in the development and eventual distribution of these revolutionary diagnostic tests.

Another important partner of AFXF is Nunzia Pharmaceutical, Inc. which has been instrumental in the development of NUNZIA™, a supplement that offers cognitive rejuvenation and stress relief that is free from side effects and addictive properties.

Evidence drawn from 300 studies over the last 20 years suggests that Anxiety Disorders are the basis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). They also indicate that these diagnoses may be connected to other neurodevelopmental conditions such as Fragile X Syndrome and Attention-Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder, along with the development of mental illnesses such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and/or Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. These studies also seem to suggest that some disorders such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, and Dementia may exist on the same anxiety and glutamate based disorder spectrum.

California Biotech formulated NUNZIA™ (originally SB15) to ease stress and promote wellness by naturally and safely balancing glutamate levels within the hippocampus, a distinctively curved sea-horse-shaped region of the brain that is directly involved in processes such as:

  • Forming new memories and connecting emotions and senses—such as smell and sound—to memories

  • Consolidating new memories

  • Emotional Responses

  • Navigation

  • Spatial Orientation

  • Anxiety regulation

Finding medications that work well for neurodivergent people and individuals with mental disorders can be quite difficult. The trial and error "shot-gun" approach can feel exhausting and frustrating, and the broad-acting effects of common anti-anxiety medications can feel more akin to chemical straitjackets than tools that promote health and wellness.

Unlike common medications, scientists at California Biotech formulated Nunzia™ to act as a “targeted blocker” by using a unique blend of herbal ingredients. Some of these ingredients include adaptogenic herbs (such as Rhodalia Rosea Root and Ashwagandha Root) that naturally and safely adapt their functions within the body based upon the specific needs of each individual.

This also makes NUNZIA suitable to work with other therapies and wellness plans such as:

  • ABA Therapy

  • Psychiatry

  • Counseling

  • Art Therapy

  • Dance Therapy

  • Equestrian Therapy

  • Aquatic Therapy

  • Physical Therapy

  • Massage Therapy

Every donation to AFXF will aid in the FDA approval and distribution of these innovative supplements.
